MIKE PLOOG JOINS STEVE GERBER IN A GIANT-SIZE MASTERWORKS OF MARVEL SWAMP ACTION!

A rotten swamp monster never looked so good! Artist Mike Ploog joins writer Steve Gerber and they’ll have you turning pages to shuffle through the muck and loving every second of it. Gerber’s stories continue to expand the strange world surrounding the Man-Thing and the people, both helpful (Richard Rory) and hateful (F.A. Schist), who have been drawn into the monster’s orbit. Of course, there’s also top-notch, good ol’ fashioned fighting. Who wouldn’t want to see the Man-Thing and the Glob swinging fists? Do they even have fists? It doesn’t matter, it’s comic book perfection. Meanwhile, the Foolkiller debuts and Man-Thing is hauled to New York City where Reed Richards is left to wonder is there still a man inside the mire?

Reprinted for the first time ever! Marvel’s second Micronauts Omnibus begins with an explosive six-part origin of the Microverse. Commander Rann and his band of freedom fighters must find three keys to stave off a time of darkness while remaining one step ahead of the mad King Argon. To do that, they’ll need help. Enter: Doctor Strange. The Micronauts will also discover a pair of new recruits: the friendly but ferocious Devil and his companion Fireflyte. In a return to Earth, our heroes end up in the X-Men’s Danger Room, pursued by the killer metamorph, Huntarr. The action reaches a crescendo as the Micronauts are drawn back to Homeworld once again to fight against Argon—and Baron Karza.

Werewolf by Wolfman? That’s right, the man born to write Werewolf by Night—Marv Wolfman—takes the writing reins on Marvel’s moon-cursed monster in this Masterworks. Together with artists Gil Kane and Mike Ploog, he’ll expand the mythos and mystery surrounding Jack Russell and his family’s connection to the demonic Darkhold. Wolfman brings Dracula into the mix and introduces the mystifying Topaz, a woman who will soon have our hero’s heart. Meanwhile, the Committee’s schemes escalate as Mike Friedrich takes the podium and Don Perlin becomes series artist. They’ll introduce another werewolf to vex, or perhaps aid, Jack Russell. Also featuring the Werewolf vs. Werewoman as Greer Nelson becomes Tigra for the first time and iconic series writer Doug Moench’s debut!

The action begins with a plan set in motion by Thanos’ death. The worldwide computer ISAAC has taken control of Titan in Thanos’ name. To overcome the Mad Titan’s threat, Captain Marvel and Drax the Destroyer must fight a war on two fronts spanning the solar system. Art turns by Steve Ditko and Frank Miller — in one of his first Marvel stories — plus a rare tale held over for years set the stage for Jim Starlin’s touching farewell to Mar-Vell.

A MARVEL MARTIAL ARTS MASTERWORKS DEBUTS IN 2011!

In 1974 nobody was kung fu fighting like Marvel Comics and at the forefront of the craze was Daniel Rand – the Iron Fist!

A Himalayan expedition in search of the mystical mountain city of K’un-Lun left nine-year-old Daniel’s father murdered by his partner Harold Meachum and his mother dead; however, Daniel found the path to the K’un-Lun and there he spent a decade training under its immortal inhabitants. After years of ceaseless training, he became an unmatched master of martial arts and spiritual control; armed with the shattering power of the iron fist, he left immortality behind to set out into the Western world and avenge his parent’s deaths.

Packed with wall-to-wall kung fu action, Iron Fist runs a gauntlet through the Kara-Kai death cult, ninja adversaries, and into mystic dimensions where the battle must be fought with mind and spirit. But Iron Fist’s saga not only follows Daniel Rand’s quest for vengeance, it also introduces Marvel mainstays Colleen Wing and Misty Knight, guest stars the Marvel Bullpen, and brings together for the very first time the creative team of Chris Claremont and John Byrne!

It’s the beginnings of a true comic book classic that can only be called a Marvel Masterworks!
