THE MACABRE MAN-THING MAKES HIS DEBUT IN MARVEL MASTERWORKS!

From the fetid of the swamps of the south, comes the Man-Thing! The brilliant Dr. Ted Sallis’ progress on a new Super-Solider Serum gained the envious attention of A.I.M. One untested injection and a hot-pursuit car crash into the swamp later, Sallis is forever changed. He is now the Man-Thing, a lumbering creature with the searing power to burn those who know fear! Under writer Steve Gerber this concept became a 1970s comic book classic. Mixing horror, occult and the Marvel Universe, Gerber’s unique narrative concoctions could produce taut morality tales, biting social commentary, a budding sorceress, the Nexus of All Realties and Howard the Duck! And with the top-flight restoration of the Marvel Masterworks, the muck monster has never looked better—or worse…bad in a good way, that is!

MIKE PLOOG AND JACK RUSSELL MEET THE WEREWOLF BY NIGHT!

Born on the night of a full moon, Marvel’s most fearsome horror hero debuts! He may be Jack Russell by day, but when darkness falls, he becomes the Werewolf by Night! Immigrated from Eastern Europe as a small child, 18-year-old Russell finds out the hair-raising secret of a family curse that turns all males into werewolves! Now, he must learn to survive in a world not hospitable to werewolf-kind—and try not to kill anyone in the process! In this first volume, master of the macabre Mike Ploog delivers some of the greatest artwork of his storied career. And these classic tales are looking better than ever because they have been newly restored for the Marvel Masterworks.

A HALLOWEEN MASTERWORKS TO SINK YOUR TEETH INTO!

The Marvel Masterworks cracks open the Tomb of Dracula! If there was one title that ushered in the Marvel Age of Horror in the early 1970s, it was Tomb of Dracula, the longest running of those seminal monster classics. Tomb was the title Gene Colan was born to draw, and paired with writer Marv Wolfman, they crafted a legacy of undead action that have become evergreens of Marvel storytelling. The hunt is on to slay Count Dracula, and the descendants of the Van Helsings are still around to make the kill—or die trying. But a new vampire hunter is on the scene, and his name is Blade! These classics have been newly restored to look better than ever!

CONAN IN RAW BLACK AND WHITE!

Savage Sword of Conan, the cornerstone of Marvel’s black-and-white magazine line, offered up stories of fiction’s most famous barbarian unencumbered by the Comics Code. With the rules of civilized publishing cast off, Savage Sword presented ferocious, untamed tales the likes of which Conan himself would approve. Writer Roy Thomas and artistic greats, including John Buscema and Neal Adams, took full advantage and the results were a sensation. Multipart sagas like “The People of the Black Circle” luxuriate in extended tellings, while a Buscema take on “The Tower of the Elephant” explores the nuance an all-time Robert E. Howard classic. And we’re topping it off with Marvel Comics Super Special #2, a tale of vengeance lavished with fully painted coloring.

CONAN AND BIG JOHN BUSCEMA CONNECT IN CONAN OMNIBUS VOL. 2!

The legend of Conan continues! Tired of the thieving life, Conan signs on as a mercenary for the warring kingdom of Turan. The enemy will tell of Conan’s legendary skill in battle — if any of them live to tell the tale — but palace intrigue may prove more dangerous to the barbarian. After all, it’s never wise to bed a wizard’s woman. Then, Conan joins with Red Sonja for a multipart adventure. Last, but far from least, we present Roy Thomas and Gil Kane’s never-before-reprinted GIANT-SIZE adaptation of “The Hour of the Dragon,” the iconic story of how Conan became king and conqueror and met the woman who would become his wife. And it’s all restored to the original coloring!

THE UNCANNY INHUMANS COME TO THE MARVEL MASTERWORKS AT LAST!

In 1965, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby gave a strange family of outcasts their debut in the pages of Fantastic Four. Responding to their Shakespearean pathos and Kirby’s out of this world character designs, the fans loved them – and wanted more! The mysterious origins of Black Bolt, Medusa, Gorgon, Triton, Karnak and the rest of their wondrous, secret world was initially revealed in a series of Thor features. But that only whetted reader’s appetites – and so came their first headlining series in Amazing Adventures!

Launched by writer/artist Jack Kirby, the new series took the Inhumans to their roots, defending their kingdom against the aggressions of mankind – especially against the ultimate threat of the Mandarin. Then a team with ‘uncanny’ credentials, Roy Thomas and Neal Adams, took up the crown and sent the Inhumans on a mythical exodus into the world of man. It was a saga exploring the social issues of the era and, of course, topped off with a heavy dose of Inhuman action!

Also featuring a rare Medusa and Black Bolt tale from Marvel Super-Heroes and a trio of satirical tales from Not Brand Echh by Stan, Jack and their blushing Bullpen!
