A rotten swamp monster never looked so good! Artist Mike Ploog joins writer Steve Gerber and they’ll have you turning pages to shuffle through the muck and loving every second of it. Gerber’s stories continue to expand the strange world surrounding the Man-Thing and the people, both helpful (Richard Rory) and hateful (F.A. Schist), who have been drawn into the monster’s orbit. Of course, there’s also top-notch, good ol’ fashioned fighting. Who wouldn’t want to see the Man-Thing and the Glob swinging fists? Do they even have fists? It doesn’t matter, it’s comic book perfection. Meanwhile, the Foolkiller debuts and Man-Thing is hauled to New York City where Reed Richards is left to wonder is there still a man inside the mire?

Werewolf by Wolfman? That’s right, the man born to write Werewolf by Night—Marv Wolfman—takes the writing reins on Marvel’s moon-cursed monster in this Masterworks. Together with artists Gil Kane and Mike Ploog, he’ll expand the mythos and mystery surrounding Jack Russell and his family’s connection to the demonic Darkhold. Wolfman brings Dracula into the mix and introduces the mystifying Topaz, a woman who will soon have our hero’s heart. Meanwhile, the Committee’s schemes escalate as Mike Friedrich takes the podium and Don Perlin becomes series artist. They’ll introduce another werewolf to vex, or perhaps aid, Jack Russell. Also featuring the Werewolf vs. Werewoman as Greer Nelson becomes Tigra for the first time and iconic series writer Doug Moench’s debut!

Conan wasn’t the only sword and sorcery icon borne from the mind of Robert E. Howard to be adapted to Marvel Comics. With the breakout success of Conan, Roy Thomas set his sights on Howard’s legendary barbarian king of Valusia, Kull, for his own four-color comic book series. Sibling art tandem Marie and John Severin joined for what many consider the creative highlight of their careers, in a run of tales that showed how uneasy hung the crown on the head of Kull, especially when confronting the wicked sorcerer Thulsa Doom! The art of Mike Ploog features heavily in Kull, along with further contributions from some of the era’s top talents, not to mention Kull’s first appearance drawn by comics legend Bernie Wrightson!

THE COMPLETE MARVEL COLLECTION OF ROBERT E. HOWARD’S KULL IN SAVAGE BLACK AND WHITE!

Thousands of years before the dawn of Conan, barbarian tribes rose across the Thurian continent, threatening the civilizations whose crumbling city walls still stood against them. In this ruthless age, there rose a man—an exile, no less—who would come to rule mighty Atlantis in the years before it crashed beneath the waves. This man was Kull and a host of Marvel’s greatest talents would chronicle his saga—his exile and savage youth; his exploits on the high seas; his rise through the gladiatorial pits and military ranks; his reign as king; and his epic battles with the skull-faced sorcerer Thulsa Doom. Experience Kull’s complete black-and-white magazine tales in this Omnibus volume, all painstakingly restored from the highest fidelity materials in Marvel’s archives.

THE SAGA OF BÊLIT BEGINS!

Battle runs through Conan’s life like the blood in his veins. A stint with the mercenary Crimson Company isn’t enough to quench his furor, but perhaps consorting with Bêlit, the pirate queen of the Black Coast, can. Together she and Conan will reave across Hyboria’s high seas and into the dark depths of its jungles. There Conan will earn his honored name Amra in one of the Cimmerian’s greatest epics. Master storytellers Roy Thomas and John Buscema follow with a saga that brings Conan, Kull and even Red Sonja together. All the while, the struggle to reclaim Bêlit’s title and lands from the Stygians carries on. Also featuring an Annual adaptation of Robert E. Howard’s first Conan tale and a massive trove of rare bonus material!

GHOST RIDER MAKES HIS BLAZING MASTERWORKS DEBUT IN 2019!

Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider, makes his Marvel Masterworks debut!

In 1972, one of the most iconic characters in comic book history, the flame-skulled Ghost Rider, burned his demonic presence into readers’ minds. Forevermore, a legion of fans were addicted to the Rider’s combination of hell-on-wheels drama and action-horror adventure. And it all begins here when Johnny Blaze makes a deal with the devil to save his friend’s life. The payment? Transformation into the Ghost Rider. The stories that follow will take the horror hero to Hell to battle Satan, pit him against the tempting Witch-Woman and team him with Daimon Hellstrom, Son of Satan. Written by Gary Friedrich and gloriously illustrated by Mike Ploog, Tom Sutton and Jim Mooney, this iconic series is beautifully restored for this Marvel Masterworks edition.
