Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema take Hulk around the world in this mean, green Marvel Masterworks! First, Israel’s best defense against the Hulk is the super hero, Sabra! Next up is Egypt, where Hulk faces the swashbuckling might of the Arabian Knight! Then it’s off to Mother Russia for a battle against Darkstar and the Soviet Super-Soldiers. In Japan, Glenn Talbot faces a dramatic reckoning, after which Hulk gets his passport stamped on Easter Island by Absorbing Man! In a pair of Hulk-sized Annuals, Rick Leonardi joins Mantlo to fuse Bruce Banner with the cosmic power of Captain Universe, and Hulk battles the Avengers—plus Frank Miller’s first Marvel story! All this and the Mantlo miniseries that changed everything: Contest of Champions!

ALAN DAVIS DEBUTS PSYLOCKE – PLUS, A MUTANT MASSACRE!

In his very first work for Marvel in the US, iconic artist Alan Davis delivers on a double-sized New Mutants Annual that introduces Psylocke to the world of the X-Men! She’s on board in Uncanny X-Men when Sabretooth and the Marauders go on the hunt for Morlocks—and they don’t mind slaying any X-Men who get in the way. The Mutant Massacre event would set a high-water mark for X-Men storytelling! Longshot joins the X-Men with the New Mutants as they take on Mojo in an Annual drawn by Arthur Adams! Meanwhile, Kitty Pryde is slowly disintegrating, leading the X-Men to make a deal with Doctor Doom to save her. Needless to say, the Fantastic Four have something to say about that!

Tony Stark recovers from his problems with the bottle by throwing himself into globetrotting business (and pleasure), but his enemies aren’t giving him an edge: The All-Devourer awaits in Hong Kong, the Titanium Man is ready to tango in Times Square and Force makes his brutal debut in the Bahamas! Though sometimes it’s your friends you need to worry about the most: Can Stark beat back a hostile takeover of his company by Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D.? With rich characterizations, a vibrant supporting cast and a steady stream of new armor designs, Michelinie and Layton prove they are just getting started!

Roger Stern and John Romita Jr. earned their stripes as two of Marvel’s most legendary creators with their run on Amazing Spider-Man! They kick this volume off with the introduction of the Hobgoblin! Who is he, and how did he become one of the most threatening villains in Spidey’s life? Then, you can’t keep a bad Vulture down, as the master criminal returns in a classic two-parter. It serves as a prelude to confrontations with the Mad Thinker, Thunderball and Spidey’s most famous rogue, J. Jonah Jameson. Peter Parker’s romantic life gets messy when Mary Jane and the Black Cat enter the picture. And topping it off, one of the most beloved Spidey stories of all time, “The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man!”

IRON MAN MEETS THE DEMON IN THE BOTTLE!

Many have lent their talents to The Invincible Iron Man, but few—if any—have had a greater impact than the creative trio of David Michelinie, Bob Layton and John Romita Jr. has. They remade Iron Man with new co-stars—including Jim Rhodes, the future War Machine—and new armors, but more important than anything else, a new, character-defining take on the man inside the armor. Their Tony Stark is a hero not because of the extent of his technological wizardry, but because of his perseverance in the face of his own personal failings. This beautifully restored Marvel Masterworks edition presents the beginning of the reinvention of a Marvel icon, culminating in the classic “Demon in a Bottle.”

Peter Parker and Dr. Curt Connors (a.k.a. the Lizard) have always shared a unique bond. Both men of science, but one was gifted with powers while the other was cursed. Only together can these sometimes allies, sometimes adversaries survive the unstoppable Iguana. Then, in a two-part Annual extravaganza, comes Doc Ock! All the while, Peter’s increasingly on edge. The bizarre horror of the Swarm and a battle with Morbius, the Living Vampire, do little to help. Then, the emergence of the Schizoid Man pushes him over the line. And on the other side is the Spider-Lizard! Can our mutated hero survive? He’d better, or he won’t be able to team up with the FF against the Frightful Four!

Dazzler, debuted in her own series — one of the comic book direct market’s very first exclusive offerings — and put audiences on their feet. Equal parts pop star and super hero, she broke new ground and faced some of the Marvel’s Universe’s greatest powers, from Hulk to Doctor Doom and Galactus, all while fighting against a wave of anti-mutant hysteria. Dazzler also pits her sound-based powers against Klaw, finds herself fighting for her life in prison and contends with every creep in the record business. Don’t hold back, go for it — reserve your copy today!
