DAZZLER TAKES A CURTAIN CALL IN DAZZLER MASTERWORKS VOL. 4!

Dazzler, that’s a wrap! The icon of the ’80s finishes her tour with the Marvel Masterworks, and her original series, in this volume. Dazzler took her last solo bow in 1986; when Madonna was notching #1 singles, she was getting chased through the sewers by super villains. Being the hardest working mutant in show business isn’t as glamorous as you’d think! And with a prejudiced world now fully aware of her mutant status, Dazzler’s singing career is at a standstill. She desperately tries to find her place, as she faces the cosmic Beyonder, battles her future X-Men teammates, romances the Beast and tries her hand at…roller derby?!? Hey, it was the ’80s! Featuring early work from indie legend Paul Chadwick!

YOUNG CONAN TAKES THE SPOTLIGHT!

As Conan the Barbarian closed out the 1980s, it became a time of transition for the title, with storytelling innovations coming from veteran creators and new talent alike. In Val Semeiks’ climactic run on the title, Conan weighs pleasure and pain in a magical desert city, wrests the Blade of Zed from a mad cleric, and runs a gantlet of fantastic beasts in a city of shadows. Larry Hama delivers the elegiac verse of “Drumsong” while Don Perlin writes and draws the Western-styled “The Mask of Vengeance.” Gerry Conway makes Conan a cat’s paw to a cult of cat people, after which Michael Higgins turns back the clock for an eight-issue “Young Conan” storyline exploring Conan’s formative years in Cimmeria.

DAZZLER SQUARES OFF AGAINST ROGUE AND MYSTIQUE IN HER SECOND MARVEL MASTERWORKS!

Dazzler stormed to the top of the charts with her debut! Now she’s back with more sights and sounds from the early ’80s! The Women of Marvel join together as She-Hulk and Spider-Woman stand by the Dazzler’s side to fight the good fight, but soon the X-Men’s Angel has flown into Dazzler’s life, sweeping her off her feet and into the air. Can romance bloom between two of Marvel’s most exciting mutants? But love will have to take a backseat when the Sisterhood of Evil Mutants show up to put Dazzler in her place: Mystique, Destiny and—in some of her earliest key appearances—Rogue! All this, plus appearances by the Fantastic Four, Power Man and Iron Fist and a What If? rarity!

WHO SAYS A MASTERWORKS HAS TO BE GOOD?

When Stan Lee set the tone for the Marvel Age of Comics it came with a healthy dose of humor. When fans demanded more of that Marvel mayhem, Stan, along with Jack Kirby, Gene Colan and the Bullpen’s mistress of mirth, Marie Severin, turned the dial up to 11 and let loose! What came blasting out was the masterpiece of Silver Age satire Not Brand Echh. Each issue came packed with Marvel’s greatest talents taking a sideways look at the super heroes they made famous (and even some that they didn’t!) Now, Charlie America, Scaredevil, the Revengers, Sore Son of Shmodin, the Sunk-Mariner and the one and only Forbush Man are coming at you in this unprecedented enormous Marvel Masterworks!

JUMPIN’ JELLYFISH! IT’S A SUB-MARINER MASTERWORKS IN JANUARY 2014!

Prepare yourself for one of the most epic eras in the history of Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner. Roy Thomas and Sal Buscema have prepared for you a string of classics that have defined the Atlantean’s life for evermore, and lucky you, the Marvel Masterworks are bringing them to you in one sweet package.

There’s the team-ups with Hercules and Captain Marvel, the gladiator battles against Triton and Stingray, the return of Attuma and Prince Byrrah, the founding of the Titans Three (who would soon become none other than The Defenders) and oh, did we forget the Red Raven? But the heart of the drama is Namor and Lady Dorma’s wedding and the scheming Lemurian Llyra’s plans to destroy it all…

YIELD TO S.H.I.E.L.D.’S THIRD AND FINAL VOLUME OF MASTERWORKS!

The Marvel Masterworks are proud to present the continuing adventures of Colonel Nick Fury in the swingin’ Sixties!

The irascible Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s series was a truly innovative lightning-in-a-bottle merger of comics and the spy craze of the day, and where better to start our collection than with a Nick Fury origin issue housed inside an iconic Jim Steranko cover?

Next up: Steranko’s last S.H.I.E.L.D. epic, “Whatever Happened to Scorpio?” will dazzle you before we launch into a new era of adventures including a moon-busting space mission; a mind-bending trip that Fury may never come back from; and a sub-earth battle with Supremus!

Then, Nick Fury faces one of his oldest enemies, the Hate-Monger (a.k.a. Adolf Hitler); the British invade as Steve Parkhouse and Barry Windsor-Smith offer the one-shot “Hell Hath No Fury”; and Hydra returns with their sights set on assassinating the S.H.I.E.L.D. director. It’s a cliffhanger that will shock and surprise you! Also packed with cool covers from the Colonel’s many S.H.I.E.L.D. reprint comics and his appearance from Marvel Spotlight #31, this Masterworks completes every fan’s classic Nick Fury library!
