MAY 1965: NEW SERIES FOR AN AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D. AND AN UNDERSEA ANTIHERO!

Marvel proudly celebrates the 60th anniversary of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s S.H.I.E.L.D. with an Omnibus collecting every Marvel comic released in May 1965, the month Nick Fury’s super-hero spy thriller debuted! It’s the next step in the evolution of the Marvel Universe, one that’s increasingly being taken over by innovative super heroes. But the there’s still plenty to be had in the pages of Patsy Walker and Millie the Model as those titles adapt to the ever-swinging Sixties. While over on the range in Two-Gun Kid, the Western villain the Panther seems like a fantastic idea. May 1965 also featured the beginning of Namor the Sub-Mariner — Marvel’s original antihero — in his Tales to Astonish solo series. Take a trip back in time and experience the whole of the Marvel Universe with the Marvel: May 1965 Omnibus!

SHANNA THE SHE-DEVIL AND FLYING SHARKS HELP FINALIZE THE 1974 KA-ZAR SERIES IN MASTERWORKS!

The Marvel Masterworks present the never-before-reprinted conclusion of Ka-Zar’s 1974 series—and it is well worth the wait. Doug Moench and Val Mayerik explore the lost civilizations of the Savage Land, expanding on the mythology and monsters of this amazing place out of time. Then, when vibranium deposits are found, Ka-Zar must re-engage with the world of “civilized” men. Klaw comes for the precious metal and opens an other-dimensional portal that unleashes aliens, flying sharks and total war on the Savage Land. It’s a saga so big that it spills over into The X-Men. Also featuring art by comics legend Russ Heath and Steve Gerber’s complete Shanna solo saga from Rampaging Hulk and Marvel Fanfare.

WOLFMAN AND COLAN’S DRACULA SAGA CONTINUES – PLUS BLADE SOLO ACTION!

Marv Wolfman’s complex, long-form plotting on The Tomb of Dracula was years ahead of its time. On the art side, Gene Colan and Tom Palmer’s visuals were arguably the final word on Dracula. So what do they have in store for us? An absolute Marvel Masterworks. Quincy Harker and his vampire hunters thought they had put an end to the Lord of Vampires, but, no, Dracula’s evil has survived and has split our heroes apart. All the threads come together as Dracula enacts his revenge, but Dr. Sun may have different plans. Meanwhile, in the shadows, lurks Deacon Frost and Blade pursues the Legion of the Damned in his complete ’70s solo stories. Also featuring Dracula’s final Giant-Size issues with John Byrne’s first Marvel story.

FEBRUARY 1964: MARVEL INTRODUCES A MAN WITHOUT FEAR!

Marvel is proud to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Daredevil with an Omnibus collecting every Marvel comic released in the month of his February 1964 debut! DD presented a rougher, gritter take on the super hero with young Matt Murdock growing up on the wrong side of the tracks with a father on the hook with the mob. Stan Lee and Bill Everett crafted a brilliant blend of crime, action and super heroics that has built the foundation for one of Marvel’s greatest characters. But what else was happening in that historic month? Well, Marvel boasted a wonderfully engaging mix romance, teen humor, Westerns and, of course, the growing stable of increasingly interconnected Marvel super heroes! Take a trip back to the spinner rack and relive them all in the Marvel: February 1964 Omnibus!

INTRODUCING…LILITH, THE DAUGHTER OF DRACULA!

They said the devil had a daughter. And that daughter is Lilith. Dracula’s scion is revealed in this historic Masterworks and while she doesn’t get along with dear old undead dad, she still carries in on the bloodsucking family tradition. That means extra trouble for our vampire hunters Rachel Van Helsing, Quincy Harker, Frank Drake Taj Nital and Blade. Speaking of Blade, he goes one-on-one with the Lord of Vampires, who has perhaps found a corner in his dark heart for a human woman. Then, Hannibal King, a private detective with biting secret, enters the stage. Plus: New corners of Dracula’s world are explored in two additional Giant-Size issues and Lilith’s complete solo saga from Marvel’s black-and-white magazines top off this must-have Masterworks!

THE MONTH WAS AUGUST 1961, AND COMICS WOULD BE FOREVER CHANGED…

Fantastic Four #1 hit newsstands in August 1961, changing comic books forever. But the revolution launched by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby didn’t occur in a vacuum. Marvel released 16 other titles that month, making August 1961 a perfect snapshot of the dawning of the Marvel Age: Giant monsters stalked the earth in Strange Tales and Amazing Adventures; heroic cowboys brought justice to the wild West in Kid Colt, Outlaw and Gunsmoke Western; love broke hearts in Teen-Age Romances and Linda Carter, Student Nurse; and teenage hijinks made lighthearted fare like Millie the Model and Patsy Walker a laugh riot. Sixty years later, Marvel examines this seminal month in comics history with this oversized Omnibus edition.
