Conan wasn’t the only sword and sorcery icon borne from the mind of Robert E. Howard to be adapted to Marvel Comics. With the breakout success of Conan, Roy Thomas set his sights on Howard’s legendary barbarian king of Valusia, Kull, for his own four-color comic book series. Sibling art tandem Marie and John Severin joined for what many consider the creative highlight of their careers, in a run of tales that showed how uneasy hung the crown on the head of Kull, especially when confronting the wicked sorcerer Thulsa Doom! The art of Mike Ploog features heavily in Kull, along with further contributions from some of the era’s top talents, not to mention Kull’s first appearance drawn by comics legend Bernie Wrightson!

We voted, and it’s a red-white-and-blue Marvel Masterworks edition packed with rare Captain America adventures in a landslide! After things start off with an origin retelling by comics legend Roy Thomas, Cap comes face-to-face with a twisted, twelve-foot version of himself, the Ameridroid! And as if that wasn’t unusual enough, wait till you see Cap squaring off against the Lincoln Memorial! It’s a good thing Cap’s got Nick Fury and the Super Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on his side because the Red Skull is back and he’s out for blood! Oh, and there’s a showdown with the Hulk that pits the green-skinned brute’s strength against Cap’s tactical skill and Vibranium-Adamantium shield! It’s a Marvel classic!

Prepare now—the Celestials are coming! Roy Thomas and Walter Simonson usher in the era of the Eternals and it may mean death for all mankind. Thus begins the unbelievable war between gods known as “The Celestial Saga.” It’s a tale among the greatest Thor adventures of all time and a must-have for Marvel fans. When Thor confronts Odin with questions about Ragnarok, his mother and the threat of the Celestials, the All-Father withholds the truth. A Thunder God must have answers, and Thor sets out on a quest that will bring him face-to-face with the Eternals and the towering Fourth Host of the Celestials. Also featuring Loki, Pluto and Ulik, Thor vs. Hyperion and an Asgardian telling of the Trojan Horse.
